SHPO Description--This large L-shaped residence is primarily two-story with a small one story wing attached to the rear. The low pitched gabled roof is covered with red tile and there are exposed rafters under the eaves. The front entry is recessed with cast stone detail around the segmented arched opening. A wrought iron gate leads to the main door. Scalloped arches with massive stepped beams create a dynamic effect over the entry. A recessed balcony with a cast stone ledge is located above the entrance. Windows are both fixes and casement with multi-panes. There is a wooden balcony on the east side of the house. The windows have louvered shutters. There is a cast stone light post leading uo to the entry and the yard is landscaped with mature trees. There are multiple french doors on the first and second story. (Judy Triem)

SHPO Significance: This house, almost double the size of the other residences on the block, has many outstanding architectural features and is built on an extra large lot. It has been very well maintained since it was constructed in 1929 for Carrie M. morehouse, widow of Lawrence G. Morehouse, and Maude Crosby, widow of Frank Crosby. Mrs. Morehouse was a native of Detroit, Michigan who had come to Pasadena about 1924. She lived with her daughter Maude Crosby Yerkey. Mrs. Morehouse was a member of the Shakespeare Club of Pasadena. She died in May 1942.
